What Is craniosacral therapy?
Craniosacral therapy is a hands-on therapeutic bodywork that focuses on soft-tissue structures and flow of cerebrospinal fluid from the head to the base of the spine. These structures and fluids protect and nourish the brain and spinal cord.
Through supporting the central nervous system, craniosacral therapy seeks to relieve stress that contributes to chronic pain, muscular and skeletal imbalance, and other common ailments.
Craniosacral therapy is particularly suited to support adults and children with:
Anxiety and depression
Chronic neck and back pain
Headaches, including migraines
Stress and tension-related disorders
And many other conditions
This work is also beneficial for women during pregnancy and post-partum, particularly for those with low back, sacro-iliac, and hip pain.
Craniosacral therapy is grounded in western science and eastern healing traditions. In order to address the unique needs of clients, Elizabeth combines craniosacral therapy with other types of bodywork such as fascial release, lymphatic facilitation, visceral manipulation, neuromuscular therapy, etc.
Sessions last an hour and occur in Elizabeth’s private practice locations on Mercer Island. House calls are available in the Greater Seattle area.
